NASHVILLE, TN

This industrial reuse project consists of the renovation of a 2-story, 2,600 sf concrete and block building in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Nashville. The building had several previous uses including a mechanic’s shop, industrial office, construction jobsite office, and prep kitchen, all of which contributed in some way to some of the uniqueness of the existing building. 

The completed space will show off this uniqueness with a combination of exposed structure against high finish areas. The office space offers small private work rooms and an open office concept. The design also incorporates a large shared kitchen, conference rooms, and intimate meeting areas. 

The exterior concept speaks to the entrepreneurial process given that a venture capital firm will occupy the second level. By day, the expectation of the process from point A to point B appears simple and straight lined. A simple move up the ranks represented by the exterior paint scheme. By night, the entrepreneurial reality comes to light and shows the true nature of getting from point A to point B where the only consistency exists in ups and downs.
