Starting Comma Designworks towards the end of the year posed both challenges and opportunities. We haven't publicly released any information on the firm, so reaching out to wish all of our colleagues and potential clients "Happy Holidays" has been a little more calculated until our launch is ready. Knowing that the pandemic has impacted Nashville families more now than any other holiday, we figured we would put 2 and 2 together.
Our colleagues who already have knowledge of Comma were sent an e-card with holiday wishes and a donation to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee made on their behalf. We really wanted to make something simple and fun!
The mission of Second Harvest is so simple and so necessary. This map of food insecurities in American is especially telling: https://map.feedingamerica.org/. While our donation was relatively small, it is a reminder that even with everything going on with a new venture, so much perspective is gained by stepping back and looking at the bigger picture.
As we move forward, Comma Designworks is committed to actively engaging with our community, both with project scale placemaking and human scale community building.
